After CubeCon, I wanted to get back into the cube podcasting space as it was something that I’d missed doing, as I had the first cube podcast - The Third Power - which started in 2010. We had several new card preview episodes, with the best card being Dragon’s Rage Channeler.
I reached out to my podcast cohost Anthony to see if we can get The Third Power to get an episode as a 2024 retrospective type of thing, but I hadn’t heard anything, so I reached out to some friends to record to get something out before the new year. This was recorded yesterday.
It’s intentionally a very stylistic change from The Third Power - it’s not as structured (usually I’d do a google sheet with our prospective outline, this time mainly going via riffing), no intro/outro, there’s several more people on the podcast, has NSFW language and doesn’t even have a title.
Like I told people at CubeCon, I do want to get The Third Power going again, but whether this ends up being a side project or where my podcasting goes next is in the air (preferably, the former since both flavors of podcast have been immensely enjoyable.)
This episode talks about what 2024 meant to us (me, TrainmasterGT, Arlo, Jane and Jesseb34r), where we talk about CubeCon and more of the designy stuff with a few of 2024’s sets, from a cube lens. It was super fun and something that I’m definitely wanting to do more of!
